Finance is social pioneers

A growing number of investors and lenders have become increasingly aware of the social dimension of sustainable finance and the market for social bonds is developing rapidly. Meanwhile, the Platform on Sustainable Finance is currently assessing how to include the social dimension (the S in ESG) in the EU Taxonomy.

The Nordic banking associations arranged this webinar to discuss how the EU best can include the social dimension in the sustainable finance regulatory framework. How do we fit the social dimension of sustainability into the current ‘green’ framework? How do we ensure that necessary data is available to meet a growing demand for information on social aspects? What are the main lessons learned so far from the European sustainability push and from some of the pioneers in the financial industry? And finally, how do we ensure useability of the criteria in EU’s Social Taxonomy?

Antje Schneeweiß (EU Platform on Sustainable Finance, subgroup Social Taxonomy) åpnet webinaret med en hovedtale om hvordan man kan inkludere den sosiale dimensjonen i EUs taksonomi.

Carine Smith Ihenacho (Norges Bank Investment Management) followed up with a presentation on how Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund has incorporated the social dimension in their decision making.
