Finance can play a central role in improving social inclusion and welfare in society. A growing number of investors and lenders have become increasingly aware of the social dimension of sustainable finance and the market for social bonds is developing rapidly. Meanwhile, the Platform on Sustainable Finance is currently assessing how to include the social dimension (the S in ESG) in the EU Taxonomy.
Join us to discuss how the EU best can include the social dimension in the sustainable finance regulatory framework. How do we fit the social dimension of sustainability into the current ‘green’ framework? How do we ensure that necessary data is available to meet a growing demand for information on social aspects? What are the main lessons learned so far from the European sustainability push and from some of the pioneers in the financial industry? And finally, how do we ensure useability of the criteria in EU’s Social Taxonomy? Antje Schneeweiß, the Chair of the Platform on Sustainable Finance subgroup Social Taxonomy and Carine Ihenacho Smith from Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund will present their views prior to the discussions.
Antje Schneeweiß (EU Platform on Sustainable Finance, subgroup Social Taxonomy) will open the webinar with a keynote speech on how to include the social dimension in the EU Taxonomy.
Carine Ihenacho Smith (Norges Bank Investment Management) will follow up with a presentation on how Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund has incorporated the social dimension in their decision making.
Idar Kreutzer CEO of Finance Norway will moderate the panel debate.
Kristina Øgaard FVP, Head of Sustainability Strategy & Governance Danske Bank.
